This is where the Onkyo HTX-22HDX steps in. It is an ultra-compact HD 2.1 channel home cinema speaker system that promises to bring your TV and movie viewing to life.

The HTX22HDX is a 2.1 system, including two bookshelf speakers and a subwoofer/AV receiver combo. The subwoofer essentially acts as an AV amp, with 3 HDMI v1.4 (for 3D compatibility) inputs and an output. It also boasts optical/coaxial connections too, meaning you can connect a blu-ray player, games console, and satellite/cable box simultaneously. The subwoofer has the ability to decode uncompressed HD audio formats such as Dobly TrueHD, taking audio clarity to a whole new level.

The subwoofer also boasts the ability to upgrade to a 5.1 speaker system, through the use of the additional Onkyo SKS-22X speakers (sold separately). The powerful 50w output of the subwoofer makes for an exciting sound, and a huge improvement over TV speakers. The HTX22HDX has a Theatre-Dimensional virtual surround mode, which gives you a simulated surround sound experience from just 2 speakers. Available in a gloss black finish, the Onkyo HTX-22HDX is perfect for use in small-medium rooms, and sounds every bit as good as it looks.
